Innovation and quality are at the heart of our breeding activities. For more than 30 years, FlorAmor Breeding has been purposefully developing new varieties through crossing and selection from our extensive gene banks. This is how we bring cultivars with stronger characteristics and high ornamental value to the market.

Our breeding programs focus on azalea (indoor and garden azalea), clivia, kalmia and rhododendron. For several of these species we have unique gene banks, further strengthening our position as a leading professional breeder. Besides aesthetics, we pay great attention to sustainability and cultivation quality.

Each year, more than 50,000 plants are sown and carefully evaluated. Only the very best selections make it to the next round. The development process of a new cultivar takes 8 to 10 years - an intensive process that results in varieties that meet the highest demands in terms of appearance, flowering time, ease of use and durability.

This strong foundation allowed us to launch the Hortinno® brand - FlorAmor Breeding's consumer quality label. Hortinno® stands for “horticulture innovation” and bundles superior quality plants grown worldwide. We also market our own licensed varieties within the Flandresse® assortment and through outside growers.
